That image still gives me chills.
Sometimes I try to talk to people about some of the strange things the firefighters saw that day. They question my patriotism.
I wonder if they would dare to question the patriotism of the surviving firefighters.

What kind of things did they see?

Great photo from such a tragic event. Where did that shot come from?
I received the images in an email from a friend… wish I knew where they originated from or who took them — like to give them credit.

Ah, I understand. Either way, they are good photos.
Thanks for sharing the experience. Ah, I really do understand they world we live in. Some lifetime memories-great photo though
Indeed. We should not forget this horrid day!
Andrew,
Wow… that’s photo I’ve never seen.
Could you imagine standing there on the other side of the river watching?
It seems surreal… yet all too real.

I cannot even imagine being there when that happened.
Ironically, I was driving up Hwy 360 in Arlington Texas - directly in front of the American Airlines headquarters when I heard about the first plane crash on the radio.
I cannot remember the exact time… had to be somewhere between 7 and 8AM, as I had to be in Plano around 9.
I had a meeting to attend, which did not happen. We spent the entire day in their conference room with about 40 other people watching the events unfold on a 50 inch plasma.
People in the conference room were crying… trying to call people they knew in New York who worked in the towers… it was chaotic in that room… like many, it is truly a day I’ll never forget.
The story those pictures tells behind was well captured and done in a very beautiful way.
