Affiliate Marketing ~ $500 Commission with a twist: Part 1

This is somewhat of a hypothetical “Affiliate Marketing” scenario — but it’s a true story.
The affiliate program does exist… but before we talk about the company, I want to give you a few things to think about — something you need to think hard about.
Picture this if you will…
A company launches a new product that every Affiliate Marketer, Online Marketer, Realtor, Insurance Agent, Web Site owner, Home Improvement and Carpet Cleaning company wants — basically, it’s something that you and every business owner must have if you plan on staying in business.
This is not something that would be nice if you had it — oh no, it’s something you MUST have or you’ll go broke.
It’s that critical.
Like the air that keeps you alive, it is truly the “AIR” to your business.
What is it?
Let’s change gears for a minute.
Let’s go back in time, it is April 1975 — some pimplie faced geeky dude named Bill just started a new software company — he calls you up on the phone - says he will sell you “Resell” or “Master Resell Rights” to his new operating system software “Windows” — if you will send him a five hundred bucks.
Knowing what we now know… it would have been a no brainer — where do I send the five hundred Bill?
But at the time… back then — “operating system software” — what’s that?
Think I’ll have to pass Bill - thanks anyway.
If you had a crystal ball and could look into the future — and purchased the Resell Rights from Bill… you could have sold Microsoft “Windows” all these years — for a measly five hundred dollars you could have made millions.
You see, when someone sells you the Resell Rights to a product, this gives you the right to sell the product and keep all the money — for the most part, you can sell the product as though you own it.
It is somewhat different with Affiliate Marketing.
With Affiliate Marketing, you do not own the product. You simply receive a commission whenever you make a sale.
It generally goes something like this.
“Mike the Marketer” develops his latest and greatest course on “Creating Massive Traffic to Your Web Site“. Let’s say the course has a cost of $500.00 — and for every sale you make “for him“, Mike will pay you a $250.00 commission (somewhat typical commission).
There’s a few major issues I have with Mikes affiliate marketing plan;
- You are building a “long term” business for Mike — not you.
- You are always starting over from scratch, because you are building a business for the Mike’s.
- You are basically giving Mike your leads — leads that now become his.
- Mike can now market to those leads with every new products he develops — and not pay you a dime.
- You are only receiving 50% of the money (not bad money) — but wouldn’t 100% be better?
- It is better to be a Mike.
This is where having Resell or Master Resale Rights comes into the picture.
If you had an “In Demand” product that everyone I mentioned in the first part of this post (Web Site owners, Affiliate Marketers, Realtors, etc) needed — and must have… and you had “Master Resell Rights” to sell this product and keep 100% of the money; you can now be like Mike.
“Master Resell Rights allows you to sell the product as though it is your own… and it also allows you to sell those rights to others who purchase the product”
For example, Jim purchases your product — Jim now has the right to Resell the product and pass the same Master Resell Rights on to whomever purchases the product from him. The new purchaser can now sell the product as well.
This is how it works on the “front-end” with the company I am referring to (there is a “back-end” as well where you make more money) — when you join the Affiliate Program and purchase the product, you now have “Resale Rights” to the product.

The illustration below is the way most Affiliate programs are set up — where you are selling products for a commission that someone else created, like Mike.
And to top it off… most don’t pay much.

Don’t get me wrong… I’ve made a ton of money selling products that paid me $30 to $50 as an Affiliate… but it wasn’t easy — and it’s not nearly as easy as the “Get Rich Affiliate Marketing” ebooks say it is.
Making $10,000+ a month as an Affiliate is a major uphill battle when you are selling a product that only pays you a $30 — or a $50 commission… it takes a lot of sales to get to that ten grand (you do the math).
And that’s about the average commission - thirty to fifty bucks.
There’s Affiliate programs that do pay more… like the big Product Launch Formula products that pay you anywhere from five hundred to a grand commission, they are still one shot deals where you are building a business for someone else.
Once the big launch is over — here we go again, you are back to square one looking for the next “Big Thing” to promote.
It’s a vicious cycle that will wear and burn you out fast.
I hope what I’ve said strikes a nerve with you — it did with me once I stopped and took a look at what I was doing.
You have to build a business for YOU — if you expect to build a “REAL” long term income — and it has to be a residual income that pays you even if you don’t, or can’t work for awhile.
I learned this lesson the hard way…
If you have read any of my other recent posts, you know my wife has been very ill. She is now disabled from her illness — she can no longer work — so we lost her $80,000.00+ yearly income from her “JOB” in a matter of one day.
No warnings… no heads up — POOF, 80 grand a year — it’s gone.
My Affiliate Marketing and Product Development income? — it has dropped dramatically due to her illness. I’ll not get into all the details… but I’ll just say that she needs a lot of care and attention.
So… with my income being totally dependent on what I do every day — until recently, I did not have a “residual” income plan in place — I only make money when I work my business.
For this reason, I joined a Affiliate Marketing company, with a Network Marketing pay plan; iBuzzPro.
I have written about iBuzzPro on my brand new “InsiderNet” Blog.
Before you rush off bad mouthing Network Marketing, hear me out first.
I’ll not cover the full compensation plan now — I’ll leave that for Part 2 — but to give you a quick overview… it works just like Affiliate Marketing, except for the “Twist” I mentioned in the title.
Just like Affiliate Marketing, with iBuzzPro you make money for each sale you make — $250 for your first two sales (see the image above) and $500.00 for each sale thereafter…
… and the product cost? $500.00 — you are making 100% commission starting with your third sale because you now have “resell rights” to the product.
The twist comes in with the Network Marketing part where you make even more money.
What I like best about iBuzzPro’s comp plan is you can make money quickly — no more waiting for months and months to make money — and not the pittance you make with most companies. I personally know of people who’ve made five to ten grand in a week.
Have I made that? No… but I’m just getting started.
With this being a product that every business needs — a grand or two a week sounds very realistic to me.
I was going to cover the Product and the “2-Up” part of the compensation plan — but you know what, lets leave that for Part 2 — just think of it as an Affiliate Marketing program that pays you a 100% commission on a $500.00 per sale, because that’s what it is — a modified affiliate program.
In the meantime — if you want to discuss iBuzzPro or have any questions, give me a call at: 972-924-5366 (skype: happydogmedia), or you can send me a message.

Hi Civilisme… sorry, I do not have any reviews on CJ, Shareasale or Linkshare on the blog.
As you know… they are all “Top Tier” Affiliate Networks — personally I prefer Shareasale over the other two.
This is mainly because they have more “auto” approve programs — sign up and you are automatically approved.
You might check out Pepperjam also… they have quite a few “consumer” oriented programs.

Sounds good. The commission structure sure beats all the others in the market. But selling $500 products online is going to be tough.

I already checked out ibuzzpro and want to join but I don’t have the $500. Would you be willing to get me in and keep the $250 from each of my qualifiers as payment. Sherry

Hi Rika… I agree - for some people it will be.
But truly, it is a mental thing. If someone is having a hard time selling 10 and 20 dollar ebooks, it would be hard for them to fathom selling something for $500.00
Thing is… you are not selling a piece of software for $500.00 — you are selling a full fledged system for generating sales.
If you look at it this way, $500.00 is not a hard sell — I spend that every couple of days with Adwords - should say I used to.
Five hundred dollars is nothing to people who advertise and promote their business.
Hi Sherry… sorry, but I cannot do that. I’ve had at least ten people ask me the same thing via my contact form.
I hope others do not start doing that — kind of defeats the purpose of how the structure is set up.
In fact, when someone new buys the system — you have to acknowledge they have paid you.
I understand not having the money to join though — truly I do.
All the best,
Andrew

That’s the first time I ever heard of anything like that. I’ve read ebooks before where people say things like “master resell rights” but never really paid attention to it or knew what that meant. Thanks for explaining it to me
